We have the largest greenhouse in New England. Which means we can grow a high volume of tomatoes year-round. No seasonal peaks or valleys. Just the same delicious tomatoes. Every single month of the year.

Our greenhouse is twenty times more productive per acre than a traditional farm. So we can protect the environment while still using New England land for agriculture.

STATE-OF-THE-ART GROWING TECHNOLOGY

Based on the production efficiencies and expert design of leading Dutch greenhouses, we’ve built one of the world’s most advanced greenhouses.

feature list (listed below)

POLLINATION BY BEES

Every one of our tomatoes starts with a bee. Native bumblebees receive their food from our tomatoes’ pollen, and in turn, fertilize the plants’ flowers. Resulting in higher yields and delicious fruit.

AUTOMATIC GROW LAMPS

We use state-of-the-art grow lamps so our tomatoes receive the same amount of light year-round, regardless of outside conditions. This is especially important in our New England greenhouse, where winter can mean low-light conditions. By providing our tomatoes with consistent light, we can give you the same delicious, high-quality tomatoes all year long.

SUSTAINABLE ENERGY

We use energy-efficient technology throughout our growing process. This includes thermal blankets to reduce heat loss in cold weather and heated gutters that funnel rainwater to the tomatoes year-round. We also use a heat capture system that stores thermal energy for night-time use. Not only are these methods environmentally-friendly, they also let us maintain ideal growing conditions year-round. Even during New England winters.

RAINWATER RECLAMATION

The best water for our tomatoes is pure, natural rainwater. At Backyard Beauties®, we capture all of the rain that falls on our roof. Then we use that water to irrigate our tomatoes. This method not only helps our plants, it protects the environment by eliminating runoff and conserving groundwater reserves.

TEMPERATURE-STABLE TRANSIT

After harvest, our tomatoes travel at a stable 55º F-the ideal temperature for maximum freshness and flavor. And because we’re a local grower, we have complete control over the transit temperature. Unlike tomatoes that are shipped a long way, our tomatoes are never refrigerated or left in the sun. They’re just shipped to you quickly at a stable temperature, so they always look and taste amazing.
